Job Brief
The Systems Engineer has two roles within the company; one is pre-sales and the other post-sales. The Systems Engineer will need to aid with all systems works during the quotation phase of the project. The execution phase will require the management of the system requirements for the project to ensure that it meets all scope, design, and quality expectations, through planning, designing and managing the software aspects of the entire project.

While most of our work is in Sydney and the Central Coast, we do have interstate customers travel to support customer and implement projects is required from time to time.

 

Responsibilities/Authorities
The Systems Engineer is responsible for pre-sales documentation development, participating in customer meetings, developing designs and specifications for control systems, executing installation plans and testing programs, advising the Project Manager on system problems, attending Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, reviewing and evaluating design drawings, giving technical advice, continuously improving operations, following software standard codes and regulations, estimating costs, and providing quality customer service.

 

About You
We are looking for Control Systems Engineers with relevant tertiary qualifications to join our professional and technical staff.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • You will have 2-5 years experience in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of PLC based control systems.
  • You will have practical experience implementing control systems incorporating instrumentation, control valves and variable speed drives
  • You will be experienced troubleshooting electrical systems. It is expected that you are able to read electrical drawings.
  • You will have site experience supporting customers and commissioning control systems.

 

Essential Technical knowledge

  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience with Rockwell (Allen Bradley), Schneider, or Siemens S7 PLCs. Knowledge of multiple supplier platforms is a plus.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of variable speed drives from Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens or ABB.
  • Technical knowledge of HMIs from suppliers such as Allen Bradley, Schneider or Siemens.
  • Technical knowledge of SCADA applications such as ClearSCADA, PCVUE, Citect, FactoryTalk View or WinCC.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and experience using it will be viewed positively.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety as applied in automation systems will be viewed positively.
